In-Person Groups during Pregnancy & Early Parenthood
In-person groups are once again added to Olive Tree Birthing's schedule. We'll be meeting either at the Woodlawn Shelter at Bryan Park (located on the east side of park, on South Woodlawn Ave. & East Southdowns Dr.) OR on the grassy lawn west of the Bryan Park Pool parking lot. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs! Parking is available at the Bryan Park parking lot off Southdowns or at the Bryan Park Pool parking lot, both within walking distance of either meeting location. A small contribution ($3-5) per group is welcomed, though not necessary. If the group grows too large for us to safely gather, there will be a limit. For now, we'll keep it drop-in format.
Thursday and Saturday groups are for those that are pregnant or have a young baby. Childbirth Preparation Meet Up is for those pregnant and looking for an in-person option to discuss your questions, learn about options, meet other parents-to-be and build your community.
Once your form is reviewed, you will be contacted with additional information closer to the group date. Filling out the form doesn't commit you to attending each group and if the group needs to be limited in order to safely gather, you will be asked to fill out an additional registration form for those purposes.
BRYAN PARK GROUP meets Thursdays 4-5pm starting April 1 (April 1, 8., 15, 29, May 6, 13, 20, 27) and is not hosted formally in June.
SATURDAY BP GROUP meets the first Saturday of the month, 10:30-11:30am starting April 3 (April 3, May 1, June 5).
CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION MEET UP meets Wednesdays, 5:30-6:45pm (April 14, May 12, June 2)*$5-15 per meet-up

Online Childbirth Education Classes
Using Zoom and Google Classroom, join me for a childbirth preparation as we explore the stages of labor, making informed decisions & OB tools/interventions, coping in labor, and preparing for the 4th Trimester. These are all the same topics we discuss in our in-person classes offered at the hospital or in other settings, however this goes beyond an online childbirth education course. You'll have the opportunity to talk with other parents attending class, ask questions in real-time and have two 20-minute private phone calls or video chats with me where you can receive 1:1 support.
I'm a childbirth educator at IUH Bloomington Hospital and have been working as a self-employed birth doula since 2008. Familiar with the local hospital, I can help walk you through your questions as you prepare for your child's birth.
March 29, April 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10, 17 6:30-7:30pm This 8-week series takes a slower approach to our childbirth preparation, giving expectant families time to think about, discuss and prepare for their baby's birth.
$200/8-week series & three 20-minute private chats/phone calls
More details, link to Google Classroom and our Zoom calls will be shared the Friday before class begins.
